Description
Chimichurri Garlic Bread is a flavorful twist on traditional garlic bread, infused with fresh herbs and spices.
Ingredients
Scale
- 3 large cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley, finely chopped
- 1 tablespoon fresh oregano, finely chopped
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 loaf French bread (about 12 inches)
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a mixing bowl, combine the minced garlic, softened butter, parsley, oregano, red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Slice the French bread in half lengthwise.
- Spread the garlic butter mixture evenly over the cut sides of the bread.
- If using, sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese on top of the buttered bread.
- Place the bread halves on a baking sheet, cut side up, and bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden and crispy.
- For an extra crispy finish, broil the bread for an additional 1-2 minutes, watching closely to prevent burning.
- Remove from the oven, let cool slightly, then slice and serve warm.
Notes
- For a twist, add a teaspoon of lemon zest to the garlic butter mixture for a bright flavor.
- Substitute the parsley and oregano with other herbs like basil or cilantro for a different taste profile.
