Description

Crispy Chicken Wonton Tacos are a delightful fusion of crunchy wonton wrappers filled with seasoned chicken and fresh toppings, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts, diced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
  • 24 wonton wrappers
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add diced chicken and season with garlic powder, onion powder, chili powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Cook until chicken is browned and cooked through, about 7-10 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  3. In a separate pot, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat for frying.
  4. While the oil is heating, take a wonton wrapper and place about 1 tablespoon of the cooked chicken mixture in the center. Fold the wrapper in half to create a triangle and seal the edges by pressing them together. Repeat with remaining wrappers and filling.
  5. Once the oil is hot, carefully add a few wonton tacos at a time, frying until golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove and drain on paper towels.
  6. To serve, fill each crispy taco with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, cheddar cheese, a dollop of sour cream, and a sprinkle of cilantro.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, try adding a splash of hot sauce to the chicken mixture.
  • Serve with a side of guacamole for a delicious twist.
  • You can substitute ground turkey or beef for the chicken for a different flavor.
