Ingredients
Scale
- 2 large russet potatoes
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup cooked bacon, crumbled
- 1/4 cup sliced green onions
- 1/4 cup sour cream
- 1/4 cup jalapeños, sliced (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
- Wash and scrub the russet potatoes thoroughly. Cut them into thin strips to create fries.
- In a large bowl, toss the potato strips with olive oil, salt, and black pepper until evenly coated.
- Spread the fries in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.
- Remove the fries from the oven and sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the top.
- Return the fries to the oven for an additional 5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Once out of the oven, top the loaded fries with crumbled bacon, sliced green onions, sour cream, and jalapeños if using.
- Serve immediately while hot and enjoy!
Notes
- For a healthier option, try baking sweet potatoes instead of russet potatoes.
- Add your favorite toppings such as diced tomatoes, avocado, or different types of cheese for a unique twist.
