Description
A classic recipe for moist and delicious banana bread made with ripe bananas.
Ingredients
- 3 ripe bananas, mashed
- 1/3 cup melted butter
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- Pinch of salt
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1 large egg, beaten
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- Optional: ½ cup chopped walnuts or chocolate chips
Instructions

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 4×8-inch loaf pan.

Mash bananas in a mixing bowl. Stir in melted butter.

Add baking soda, salt, sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla. Mix well.

Stir in flour until just combined. Do not overmix. Stir in nuts or chocolate chips if using.

Pour batter into the loaf pan. Smooth the top.

Bake for 60–65 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.

Cool in pan 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
Notes
- For added flavor, mix in 1/2 cup of chopped walnuts or chocolate chips.
- If you prefer a sweeter bread, increase the sugar to 1 cup.
- Store at room temp in an airtight container for 3 days, or freeze for up to 3 months.
