Description
Tandoori Masala Lamb Chops are marinated in a flavorful blend of spices and yogurt, then grilled or roasted to perfection.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 pounds lamb chops
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 cup plain yogurt
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
- 2 tablespoons tandoori masala spice blend
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for heat)
- Fresh cilantro, for garnish
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the yogurt, vegetable oil, lemon juice, garlic, ginger, tandoori masala, cumin, paprika, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper. Mix well to create a marinade.
- Add the lamb chops to the marinade, ensuring they are well coated. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or overnight for best flavor.
- Preheat your grill or oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Remove the lamb chops from the marinade and let any excess marinade drip off.
- If grilling, place the lamb chops directly on the grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes per side for medium-rare, or until they reach your desired doneness. If using an oven, place the chops on a baking sheet and roast for 15-20 minutes, flipping halfway through.
- Once cooked, remove the lamb chops from the heat and let them rest for 5 minutes.
- Garnish with fresh cilantro before serving.
Notes
- For a smoky flavor, consider adding a few drops of liquid smoke to the marinade.
- Try serving the lamb chops with a side of cucumber raita or a fresh salad for a refreshing contrast.
