Ingredients

  • 2 large sourdough bread bowls
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 small onion diced
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 cup cooked shrimp chopped
  • 1 cup cooked crab meat shredded
  • 1 cup cream cheese softened
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley chopped (for garnish)

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F.
  2. Cut the tops off the sourdough bread bowls and hollow out the insides, leaving about a half-inch of bread on the sides. Reserve the bread you removed for later use (like croutons or dipping).
  3. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion and sauté until translucent, about 3-4 minutes. Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional 1 minute.
  4. In a mixing bowl, combine the cooked shrimp, crab meat, cream cheese, sour cream, half of the cheddar cheese, lemon juice, Old Bay seasoning, salt, and pepper. Stir until well combined.
  5. Add the sautéed onion and garlic mixture to the seafood mixture and stir until evenly distributed.
  6. Spoon the seafood mixture into the hollowed-out bread bowls, packing it in gently.
  7. Top each filled bread bowl with the remaining cheddar cheese.
  8. Place the bread bowls on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  9. Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
