  • 1 small Onion Diced
  • 6 large Eggs Can use egg whites for a lighter dish
  • 1 cup Milk Can substitute with low-fat or heavy cream
  • 1 tsp Onion Powder
  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Ground Black Pepper
  • 2 cups Shredded Cheddar Cheese Can mix with Colby Jack or Mexican cheese

  • 1 cup Bell Peppers Chopped, optional
  • 1 cup Spinach Fresh, optional
  • 2 tbsp Fresh Herbs Chives or parsley for garnish

Method
 

Cooking Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8-inch square baking pan.
  2. Spread the thawed hash browns evenly in the baking pan and press down gently.
  3. In a skillet, cook the sausage and diced onion over medium heat for about 10 minutes until browned. Drain excess fat.
  4. Whisk together eggs and milk in a large bowl; add onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  5. Pour the egg mixture evenly over the hash browns and sprinkle with half of the cheese.
  6. Layer the cooked sausage and onion mixture on top, then add the remaining cheese.
  7. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 1 hour. Remove foil and bake for another 10-15 minutes until golden.
  8. Let the casserole cool for 5 minutes before slicing and serving.
