Dough Preparation
- In a stand mixer, combine buttermilk, instant yeast, granulated sugar, eggs, bread flour, and salt using a dough hook. Mix on medium speed for 4-5 minutes until well incorporated.
- Add 2 tablespoons of softened salted butter and mix for an additional 2-3 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Transfer the dough to a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let rise in a warm area for about 1-2 hours until doubled.
Filling and Assembly
- Prepare the filling by mixing softened butter, garlic, Parmesan cheese, and fresh herbs.
- Once the dough has risen, punch it down, roll it out into a rectangle, and spread the filling evenly across.
- Sprinkle the grated cheddar cheese over the filling, roll the dough into a log, and twist it before placing on a baking sheet.
- Cover and let rise again for about 45 minutes.
Baking
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Brush the top with melted garlic butter and bake for 30-35 minutes.
