- Wash and chop all the vegetables, including the pumpkin, carrots, and chocho. Clean and cut the chicken pieces. Crush the garlic and gather the spring onions and thyme.
- In a large stockpot, bring 12 cups of water to a rolling boil. Add the chicken, garlic, and pimento seeds, ensuring they are well submerged. Boil for about 10-15 minutes.
- Incorporate the pumpkin, corn, carrots, and optional yellow yam into the pot. Stir and cook for another 15 minutes.
- Once the pumpkin is tender, add chocho, turnip, dumplings, thyme, spring onion, and scotch bonnet. Stir regularly for 5-7 minutes.
- Reduce heat to medium-low and add Grace Cock Soup Mix, seasoning salt, and cracked black pepper. Simmer for 15-20 minutes.
