Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground pork
  • 1/4 cup pure maple syrup
  • 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes optional
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil for cooking

Method

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground pork, maple syrup, chopped rosemary, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and red pepper flakes (if using). Mix until all ingredients are well incorporated.
  2. Divide the mixture into 8 equal portions and shape each portion into a patty about 1/2 inch thick.
  3. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  4. Once the oil is hot, add the sausage patties to the skillet, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until the patties are golden brown and cooked through.
  5. Remove the sausages from the skillet and let them rest on a paper towel-lined plate to absorb any excess oil.
  6. Serve warm with your favorite breakfast sides, such as eggs or pancakes.
