Method
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 4×8-inch loaf pan.
- Mash bananas in a mixing bowl. Stir in melted butter.
- Add baking soda, salt, sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla. Mix well.
- Stir in flour until just combined. Do not overmix. Stir in nuts or chocolate chips if using.
- Pour batter into the loaf pan. Smooth the top.
- Bake for 60–65 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool in pan 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.

- For added flavor, mix in 1/2 cup of chopped walnuts or chocolate chips.
- If you prefer a sweeter bread, increase the sugar to 1 cup.
- Store at room temp in an airtight container for 3 days, or freeze for up to 3 months.
