  • 1 sheet Puff Pastry Thawed before use
For the Filling
  • 2 tbsp Stone Ground Mustard Can substitute with Dijon mustard
  • 8 oz Smoked Sausage Can use turkey or chicken sausage
  • 1 large Egg For an egg wash; can substitute with plant-based milk
For the Topping
  • 2 tbsp Everything But the Bagel Seasoning Optional substitute with favorite spices
For Serving
  • 1 tbsp Dijon Mustard For dipping; other sauces can be used as well

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Thaw the puff pastry for about 15 minutes, then roll it out on a floured surface and cut into 6 rectangles.
  3. Place stone ground mustard in the center of each rectangle, add a piece of sausage, brush edges with beaten egg, and seal.
  4. Cut each sealed pastry into 4 smaller pieces, place seam side down on the baking sheet, and brush tops with egg wash.
  5. Make slits on top of pastries, sprinkle with everything bagel seasoning, and bake for 15-18 minutes until golden.
  6. Cool slightly before serving with Dijon mustard or favorite dipping sauces.
