Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).
Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs for better tenderness. Use a paper towel to grip and pull it off.
In a small bowl, mix together the paprika, brown sugar, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, salt, and cayenne pepper.
Rub the spice mixture evenly over both sides of the ribs.
Place the ribs on a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil, meat side up. Cover the ribs tightly with another piece of foil.
Bake in the preheated oven for 2.5 to 3 hours, until the ribs are tender.
Remove the ribs from the oven and carefully take off the top layer of foil. Brush the barbecue sauce generously over the ribs.
Increase the oven temperature to 400°F (200°C) and return the ribs to the oven, uncovered. Bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, until the sauce is caramelized and bubbly.
Let the ribs rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
