Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 8 slider buns
  • 1 ripe avocado sliced
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon chipotle sauce or to taste
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro chopped
  • Lettuce leaves for serving

Method

  1. In a large bowl, combine the ground turkey, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.
  2. Divide the turkey mixture into 8 equal portions and shape them into patties.
  3. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Cook the patties for about 5-6 minutes on each side, or until they are cooked through and reach an internal temperature of 165°F.
  4. While the patties are cooking, prepare the chipotle mayo. In a small bowl, mix together the mayonnaise, chipotle sauce, lime juice, and chopped cilantro. Adjust the chipotle sauce to your desired spice level.
  5. Toast the slider buns in a toaster or on a skillet until golden brown.
  6. Assemble the sliders by placing a turkey patty on each bun, topping with avocado slices, a dollop of chipotle mayo, and a lettuce leaf. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • For added flavor, mix in some shredded cheese into the turkey mixture before forming the patties.
  • Swap out the chipotle mayo for a garlic aioli or a spicy sriracha mayo for a different flavor profile.
